The Porsche Paint-to-Sample program is an exclusive offering that allows Porsche owners to personalize their vehicles with a virtually limitless palette of colors, making each car a unique expression of its owner’s style and personality. This program is part of Porsche’s long-standing tradition of customization, dating back to the company’s early models, such as the 356.

Customization Options

The Paint-to-Sample program provides access to over 160 pre-approved colors, along with the option to create a bespoke color through the Paint-to-Sample Plus service. This bespoke service involves an extensive feasibility study to ensure the custom color meets Porsche’s high standards for quality and durability. The standard program includes historic Porsche colors like Rubystar and Acid Green, while the Plus service allows for entirely new shades based on customer preferences.

Process and Cost

To begin the process, customers work with their local Porsche dealer to select a color. If the desired shade is not part of the existing palette, a sample can be submitted for evaluation under the Paint-to-Sample Plus option. This process can take up to 11 months and costs up to $25,660 for high-end models like the 911 Turbo and GT variants. For most 911 and 718 models, the standard Paint-to-Sample option costs approximately $11,430.

Quality Assurance

Porsche ensures that each custom color meets its rigorous standards through advanced techniques and high-quality materials. The process does not extend production times due to efficient systems like the new color mixing bank at the Zuffenhausen plant.
